These terms apply every time you use folktalesinc.com or place an order with us. By using the store you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the store.

1. Who you are dealing with

This store is operated by Folktales Inc registered office Fifth Floor, Tower No. 11, 505-B, Felix Square, IBB2, Sushant Golf City, Sultanpur Road, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226030, GSTIN 09AAHFF6384P1ZK. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Folktales Inc" mean that entity, and "you" means the person using the store.

2. Who can buy

You must be 18 or older and legally capable of entering a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you are under 18, you may use the store only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who takes responsibility for the order.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and your password private, and for everything done through your account. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to it. We may suspend or close an account that is being used fraudulently or in breach of these terms.

4. Products, photography and descriptions

We describe our products as accurately as we can. Two things are worth stating plainly.

Our brass murtis are made by hand. Small differences in finish, tone and detail between one piece and the next are a feature of hand finishing, not a defect. Brass also darkens naturally over time.

Product photography is shot in atmosphere rather than on a plain white background, and colours vary between screens. Sizes given on the product page are the reliable guide to scale.

5. Pricing and payment

All prices are in Indian Rupees and inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. Shipping charges, where they apply, are shown at checkout before you pay.

We take care with pricing, but if a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of a technical or human error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than fulfil it. We will always contact you first.

Payments are processed by Razorpay, which supports UPI, cards, net banking and wallets. All orders are prepaid. We do not offer Cash on Delivery. We do not store your payment credentials.

6. When an order becomes binding

Adding a product to your cart or completing payment is an offer to buy, not a concluded contract. The contract is formed when we confirm dispatch. Until then we may decline or cancel an order, for example if the item is out of stock, if the delivery address is outside our serviceable network, if we suspect fraud, or in the pricing situation described above. If we cancel, you are refunded in full.

7. Delivery

Delivery is covered by our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these terms. Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees, because the final leg is handled by third party couriers.

8. Returns, replacements and cancellations

Our Refund and Return Policy and our Cancellation Policy form part of these terms. Please read them before ordering, because our returns window is narrow and depends on an unboxing video.

9. Intellectual property

The Folktales Inc name and logo, our original books including 40 Lessons from the Ramayana and Travel to Naimisharanya, our product photography, illustrations, story cards, packaging design and website copy are our intellectual property or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, resell or use any of it commercially without our written permission.

The underlying religious and traditional texts we publish are part of the shared heritage of Sanatan Dharma and belong to no one. Our editions, translations, design and presentation of them are ours.

10. How you may use the store

You may not use the store to break the law, misrepresent who you are, scrape or copy the site, interfere with its operation, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it. You may not resell our products commercially without a written agreement with us.

11. Reviews and anything else you post

If you post a review, photograph or comment, you confirm it is your own, and you give us permission to display and use it in connection with the store and our marketing. We may remove content that is abusive, misleading, unlawful, or aimed at insulting any faith or community. This is a store built on respect for a tradition, and that standard applies to the comments section too.

12. What our products are, and what they are not

We sell books, brass articles and gift sets. We make no claim, and you should not infer any, that any product will produce a particular spiritual, astrological, financial, medical or personal outcome. Our copy tells you what a text says, who a deity is, and what a tradition holds. It is cultural and educational, offered with respect, and it is not a promise of results.

Folktales Inc is a commercial cultural brand, not a religious institution, and nothing on this store is religious instruction or a substitute for professional advice of any kind.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, opportunity or goodwill, or for a delivery delay caused by a courier, weather, strike, civil disruption, government action or any other event outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Folktales Inc against any claim, loss or expense arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the store.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 to approach the consumer forum where you reside.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version on this page at the time you place an order is the one that applies to that order.
